Galéria X opened its doors to the public in September 1990. The original name, Galéria X – style, was chosen by its founding artists, Milota Havránková, Júlia Kunovská, and Silvia Fedorová, to reflect their ambition to contribute to shaping a lifestyle through the exhibited works. From its inception, the gallery has been dedicated to applied arts and design. Although the gallery has maintained its distinct character for over three decades, it continually expands its collection by regularly inviting new artists, primarily talented graduates and students from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (VŠVU). In addition to showcasing Slovak artists, the gallery also features several international creators.
