For over a decade, the Slovak Fashion Council has been shaping and growing the Slovak fashion ecosystem. A key part of this mission is capturing the evolving landscape of Slovak fashion, and its primary tool for this is the Fashion Map. Originally launched in print in 2017, the map has also been brought online.

What is it?

Fashion Map.SK provides a curated list of places to discover Slovak and local fashion and design, including presentation spaces, boutiques, and galleries.

As the only organization specializing in Slovak fashion, the Slovak Fashion Council has consistently mapped this unique segment. After several years as a printed guide, the Fashion Map went digital in 2022, opening possibilities for frequent updates and a broader reach. The print version focuses on Bratislava and its surroundings, while the online catalog includes brands, stores, and design spaces from across Slovakia. Online, the Fashion Map emphasizes sustainability, noting which brands follow sustainable practices—a long-term commitment for the Council. Designers and brands are challenged to move towards sustainable models, while consumers have the power to drive this shift with every purchase.

 

The map emphasizes authentic design and creativity because:

Supporting a Sustainable Fashion Ecosystem and Its Creative Innovators

The Open Studios event is organized by the professional nonprofit organization Slovak Fashion Council (SFC). Our mission is to enhance the Slovak fashion industry so that designers and industry professionals become integral to the creative sector and cultural scene. Besides hosting educational and promotional events in Slovakia and abroad, we are developing a unique online project—the Slovak Fashion Map, FashionMap.SK—open to the public and professionals alike.
