Fashion Map Weekend, held on October 20-21, 2023, in Bratislava, offered a dose of inspiration and a unique view into Slovak fashion and design. Hosted by the Slovak Fashion Council, the event brought together beauty, creativity, and sustainability in a vibrant program.

The weekend began on Friday with tours of showrooms and installations from brands like Nehera, Atelier Rabada, Zuzana Serbak Shoes, and Marta Juhasz Jewelry. These showrooms and pop-ups provided visitors with a rare chance to connect with Slovak designers and experience their work firsthand. The official opening included a lively panel discussion on the current state of Slovak fashion, featuring industry voices such as Zora Husarcikova from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Live! and Maros Schmidt from the Slovak Design Center. The evening closed with a fashion performance showcasing the garments by the 2023 Best Fashion Talent finalists and an energetic set by DJ Fralaa, setting the tone for the weekend.

Saturday’s program featured more insightful discussions—highlighting young talent on the Slovak fashion scene, exploring sustainability in fashion, and a fascinating talk with Dana Lapsanska on the history and ethics of fashion. A major highlight was the conversation with Bibiana and Ladislav Zdut, the creative minds behind the celebrated Slovak brand Nehera, joined by Zdenko Gafrik. They offered a behind-the-scenes look at crafting luxury pieces and underscored the importance of supporting local fashion.

Attendees also enjoyed hands-on workshops including crafting leather bags with Zuzana Vrabelova and learning how to style second-hand finds with Beica Concept Store. Barbora Yurkovic shared tips for building a fall and winter capsule wardrobe, and Marta Juhasz offered guidance on jewelry care.
This weekend packed with inspiration celebrated a passion for fashion and design, championing sustainability and local talent.
