Favab: A Story of Passion, Innovation, and Craftsmanship

Behind the brand Favab lies a story of how passion for craftsmanship, courage, and hard work turned a vision into reality. The origins of this brand are deeply intertwined with the personal experiences of its founders—a librarian and a machinist—whose unexpected journey led to the creation of a fashion brand with a unique philosophy.

An Idea Born from Machines

One of the founders, an experienced machinist, worked with technology used to produce Lycra® elastic fiber, commonly utilized in stockings. However, an innovation emerged—Lycra® wrapped in cotton—resulting in a fabric that was both strong and elastic. While the wrapping process presented challenges, the founder’s technical expertise provided a breakthrough, enabling the production of high-quality, stretchable material ready for further use.

From Fabric to the First Products

In the past, finding quality men's underwear was a challenge. This sparked an idea: to create a collection of men’s underwear combining comfort, quality, and adaptability. The first collection was modest, consisting of just 12 pieces. Instead of hesitating, the founders gave it a shot, introducing something that was missing from the Slovak and Czech markets. The first products quickly gained traction, and Favab built a loyal customer base. Over time, Favab expanded to offer not only underwear but also a wide range of men’s and women’s clothing, all while staying true to its original philosophy: crafting quality products that bring joy and stand the test of time.

Today, Favab is synonymous with fashion that prioritizes elegance, comfort, and quality. Local production has remained a cornerstone of the brand for over 30 years. Each product is crafted by skilled artisans who bring a keen eye for detail and years of experience to their work. The designs are timeless, meant to remain staples in wardrobes for years—not just a single season.

A Brand Rooted in People and Craftsmanship

Favab is built on the dedication of its team and the appreciation of its customers, who value quality and originality. It’s a brand with solid foundations, creating clothing that not only looks good but embodies the art of tailoring. Beyond its own production, Favab collaborates with and provides expert guidance to notable Slovak slow-fashion brands.

Inspiration and Creation

Every piece begins with a design. Classic, time-tested styles are complemented by fresh ideas inspired by fashion trends. These trends, however, are always adapted to meet the needs of everyday individuals who want to look good, feel comfortable, and express their personality. The quality of Favab’s products is both visible and tangible.

The Production Process: Where Every Detail Matters

Favab blends traditional techniques with modern approaches in its sewing workshop in Vrbove near Piestany. Maintaining full control over quality and preserving local jobs are top priorities. Materials, sourced exclusively from Europe, are carefully selected and tested, with a preference for sustainable options. Original prints by the brand’s designer come from trusted suppliers in Germany and the Czech Republic.

Visitors to Favab’s workshops can witness the entire garment-making process: from precise pattern drafting and fabric cutting to sewing, ironing, and final embellishments such as crystal detailing. Every stitch and detail carry significance.

Favab’s Fashion

For over three decades, Favab has specialized in premium men's underwear, as well as loungewear, casual wear, cozy hoodies, and sweatpants. For women, the brand offers wardrobe essentials like elegant evening dresses and versatile tops, available in solid colors or artistic prints and unique cuts. Favab delivers fashion with added value, creating garments that are not only eye-catching and innovative but also durable. Comfortable and versatile, they become beloved staples in any wardrobe. Yet, Favab represents more than just fashion—it embodies values, quality, and authenticity.
